Since Roger Thrift became the program's first-ever NFL draft pick in 1951, 67 Pirates have heard their name called — including first-round picks Robert Jones (Cowboys, 1992) and Chris Johnson (Titans, 2008, #24 overall), who ran for over 2,000 yards in a single NFL season.
